Imaginations: Fun Relaxation Stories and Meditations for Kids is a book of stories to help children learn to calm their bodies and relax their minds. Wildly imaginative and whimsically joyful, Carolyn Clarke’s guide is a wonderful tool for children to learn that the most important spaces in life are often the quiet moments in between. The stories and illustrations contained in this volume help children learn to calm themselves and release the tension of their lives in a positive, healing manner. A child’s ability to consciously relax their body and clear their mind can help address a myriad of issues, such as anxiety, stress, and excessive worry; sleep disorders, nightmares, and fear of the dark at bedtime; anger issues; focus and concentration issues; special needs, including ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, autism, and OCD; depression; low self-esteem; grief; and life changes such as moving, divorce, or changing schools. Opening up worlds and universes with evocative stories and vivid details that simultaneously calm the mind, body and spirit, Clarke’s debut is an extraordinary aid to help children not only tap into their inner calm, but to expand their imagination to its outer limits—and beyond.
I am happy to support Move With Me because I believe that every child can benefit from yoga and relaxation. Yoga is especially beneficial for kids that don’t have an interest in or are intimidated by competitive sports, and this is one way to address the problem of childhood obesity in this country.- Carolyn Clarke
In the kindie music world, Kira Willey breaks through with her unique, two-in-one albums that blend upbeat, danceable music with get-up-and-move yoga inspiration. In October 2011, this innovative singer-songwriter from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, released her second CD, Kings & Queens of the Forest: Yoga Songs for Kids Vol. 2. The collection of 13 joyful folk/pop originals also features 13 bonus yoga tracks with Kira’s instructional voiceovers. Included in the album is a lyric booklet that guides parents with illustrations of Kira’s kid-friendly yoga routines. Kira is also donating one of her debut CDs, “Dance for the Sun: Yoga Songs for Kids.”
Kira believes strongly in the battle against childhood obesity and the importance of instilling healthy fitness habits in children early in their lives, and is happy to support Move with Me!
Yummi Yogi is a collection of yoga shaped cookie cutters! This is a fun way for kids to learn more about yoga in and out of the kitchen.
Yummi Yogi is excited to be a part of supporting MwM and it’s passion to end obesity.
OM Schooled the book grew out of the intention to support more kids yoga teachers! After teaching yoga in schools for many years full time I wanted to share what worked and what didn’t with others looking to bring health and mindfulness to children, especially in school environments. OM Schooled is a teachers’ guide and I hope the book is fun and of use!
The work Move with Me is doing is so in-line with all OM Schooled believes in! There’s power in numbers, so we are giving a major shout-out to MWM!
