Liz has been practicing yoga since 1987 and began writing stories in 1973, as a 5 year old with a love of books, words & imaginary, far-off places. After her son was born in 2000, combining her love of stories, yoga and play flowed naturally from her new role as Mom and playmate to Nick. Liz guides children in yoga and creative movement classes, story-play and fitness classes at schools, libraries, gyms, festivals and other venues. She also teaches yoga to adults privately and in groups for health and therapeutic purposes. She is a member of the Peer Review Panel for the International Journal of Yoga Therapy and has edited a book and articles on yoga practice and philosophy.
She is a certified Yoga Teacher with the Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Foundation. She holds a BA with Honors from Baylor University in Russian Language and Russian Studies. After two years working in Moscow and traveling on her time off wherever trains, planes and cars could take her throughout Russia and Europe, she settled in Louisiana and received her MA in History from Tulane University.
With her great & amazing friend, Wendy Piret, she is a partner in Little Trees Creative Play LLC. Together, they imagined, wrote and choreographed the 9 story series “Scooter & Me.” Currently, they are hard at play on their next movement and story series, “Folk Tales with a Twist”.
